This 12 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari is a 12 days Uganda wildlife, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking safari is a wildlife safari in Uganda with the big five game encounter as well chimpanzee tracking and Uganda gorilla trekking safari. A part from primates and other wildlife, the rare, Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi Forest are also a highlight of this trip.
In the 12 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari is inclusive of pick up on arrival at Entebbe International Airport as well as drop off during departure, on the whole trip you will go along with a professional English speaking driver guide from our Masai Mara Holidays Team. This is a private tour that can be undertaken by any kind of travelers any time of the year though most recommendable to be undertaken in the months of June-September and December –February which are the dry seasons. During the trip, a 4×4 safari vehicle is availed for all of the ground transfers.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival through Entebbe International airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your overnight hotel in Kampala.

Your safari in Uganda will begin with driving northwards to Murchison Falls National Park. With a hot lunch en-route, prepare your selves for the breathtaking scenery and a short nature walk and Rhino tracking to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Masindi. The guided nature walk in the sanctuary brings you up close with the endangered rhinos (the only ones in Uganda). In the evening arrive into the national park and transfer directly to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your accommodation preference.

After an early morning breakfast, enjoy an early game drive and enjoy some of the vast array of game animals like giraffes, elephants and buffalo that roam the park. Return to Lodge for Lunch. In the afternoon take a Boat Launch upstream to the foot of the thundering Murchison Falls offering great photo opportunities of this marvel of nature. Also along the banks of the River you will be able to see animals like Hippos, crocodiles, and unique bird species for the avid Bird watchers. From the bottom of the falls, you take a short hike to the top of the mighty Murchison Falls for spectacular views and great photography opportunities.

After breakfast, drive south west of Uganda to the town of Fort Portal and then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. Lunch en-route. Arrive at Kibale forest in the evening and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

After an early breakfast, you’ll have briefing session by the park officials and later set off to the rainforest on the chimpanzee tracking adventure. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, take the Bigodi swamp walk. Bigodi Swamp is popular with many swamp endemic birds. The swamp is also a major livelihood for the local community through tourism and crafts. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the largest parks and home to several species of mammals. Lunch at a lodge in the park. Later on have an evening game drive in the savannah plains with sights of Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, hyenas, stripped jackals, Hippopotamus, Kobs, Warthog and a variety of primates like Chimpanzee, olive baboon, red-tailed and vervet monkeys in the forests. Dinner and overnight at accommodation of your choice

After breakfast, drive towards Kasenyi and visit the crater lakes, Edwards and George which has been popularly marked as the mating ground for several antelopes, particularly for the Uganda kob. You may be lucky to also sight more wildlife that may include lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other animals. Head back to your lodge for lunch and then proceed on an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. Enjoy the rays of the setting sun on the launch cruise. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at leisure and then drive through Ishasha sector the area famed for the tree-climbing lions. Lunch in the Ishasha sector. The region is famed for the tree climbing lions and a chance to spot them is by luck. After the game drive continue to Bwindi impenetrable National Park on a scenic drive. Check in at booked accommodation and spend the rest of the evening at relaxation.

After an early breakfast, head to the ranger station for briefing and by the mid-morning, start your gorilla trekking expedition in the lush forest vegetation of Bwindi national park. It is quite strenuous and requires fitness through the long hours of anticipated gorilla tracking, sometimes taking 2-7 hours of trekking. Other sights on the trails may include monkeys, birds and several butterflies. Spend utmost one hour with the gorillas and then retire to your lodge happy to have made the trip. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

After breakfast, enjoy a drive through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Lake Bunyonyi near Kabale in the Kigezi region. Lunch at the lodge Lake Bunyonyi. In the afternoon you have a wonderful experience of nature with a guided canoe excursion along the Lake, for birding, exploration and visiting local places. In the evening relax at the lodge, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast in the morning and begin the transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo is the smallest savannah game park in Uganda but with stunning wildlife to see. You arrive in time for Lunch at the lodge in Lake Mburo and thereafter have an evening game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight

Have a morning nature walk in the park and then transfer to Entebbe International Airport with a stopover at the equator. More sightseeing on the road to Entebbe Airport and lunch is organized en-route. We organize the last transfer to Entebbe. You reach in the evening in Entebbe International Airport and final transfer to the airport for a departure flight
